My favorite assignment was practicing speaking to myself as I would to a good friend. It was hard for me to do as self-talk, so I began doing it in my journaling. Before then, my journaling had been mostly venting. Venting was good. However, after I changed to speaking to myself as a good friend, I was able to both vent and to give and receive encouragement from journaling. It made journaling for me even more worthwhile to do and to go back and re-read.
Thank you, Nicole, for sharing your accomplishment. I’m so glad the post Be Mindful of How You Speak to Yourself has been helpful to you!
